I know this isn't a "serious" area of collecting but my son likes dinosaurs so I decided to see what was out there for coins with dinosaurs on them. There's a lot that's not in my wheelhouse - I don't like colored coins or other gimmicks. But I did find some that I like, which I want to share here. There are still some others out there that I don't have yet, and I have the 2021 British 50 pence set on the way in the mail. I'm also including a few non-dinosaurs that are nevertheless extinct animals. Add any that you might have too. The first coin here features a fossil of a cave bear.
Second group. Two silvers in here. Also, it's hard to find a woolly mammoth coin that does not involve it being hunted by early man. Something about a mammoth with a spear sticking out of it is not exactly what I'm looking for.
Finally for now, here's the 2020 British 50 pence set of dinosaurs discovered in Britain. These come in a case that you can't remove them from without destroying it as far as I can tell so it's hard to get good pictures. I have the 2021 set on the way from Britain but it's not here yet.
Closest I have are these elongated. Too bad they are on Zincolns, kind of cool still. 20 different kinds.
Mongolia has several. Some of the newer ones are more of the "gimmicky" variety (although I somewhat like the look). Here is a link to those: https://coinweek.com/world-coins/sinraptor-inaugurates-new-dinosaur-coin-series-from-cit/ Then they have older ones that are more "standard" https://colnect.com/en/coins/coin/6...Peoples_Republic_Numismatic_Products-Mongolia https://colnect.com/en/coins/coin/2...day_-_Republic_-_Numismatic_Products-Mongolia https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces115582.html
I had picked these up for my grand-daughter when they were issued. Not my picture, apparently, I haven't taken any of these. Really gimmicky but they made here happy.
I wish they weren't in color because I have an aversion to colored coins. I'd also buy the turtle coin on that page too if it wasn't colored.
