Seems like about 10 years ago the then owner of that shop will killed in a robbery. Must be a tough area.
The shop you're probably thinking of, Jim, was in St. George, UT. I had frequented that shop for years.
It was St. George. my late coin dealer got shot and killed. His best friend Troy took over the shop then moved to a new area. Very sad that this happened. He was a good dealer with integrity. and a good friend. His name was Gordan Allgood. His friend that took over the coin shop still has the shops name "Allgood Coin". It is the only coin shop in St. George. I live here in St. George, Utah. an FYI they did finally catch the guy that shot him. The robbery above is in Salt lake City.
It was Jordan allgood I hadn't heard they caught the shooter. The worst part of it was he didn't need to shoot Jordan as he had already handed over the goods the guy shot him as he was leaving.
I guess it took 2 years but glad the finally got him. http://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=3054681&itype=NGPSID
Tragic. My prayers to Gordon Allgood and his family. A good reminder to be vigilante due to the nature of valuable coins and assets
the scary thing is I was in his coin shop 1 hour before it happened. The shooter looked straight at me too. I will never forget his wig, coat bottlecap glasses, and brand new doc martin shoes. the strangest thing is....he brought in 10-20 oz of gold to sell of which I found very strange. after I had left. I thought nothing of it until next day when I got a phone call from the girl that used to work there telling me he had been shot and killed. I was so in shock. that girl still has to get therapy because of it. It really sadden me. 2-3 years later his Gordan's wife died from breast cancer. more sad news. I feel his spirit is still in his friends Troy's store.
Wow, that's absolutely horrible! He wouldn't have walked out of my LCS. Everyone in there is carrying.
