Does anyone when coin rolls were first used? And when did our current standard roll values ($0.50 Cents, $2 Nickels, $10 Quarters, etc...) come into place? Lastly, were 2 Cents, 3 Cents, Half Dimes, 20 Cents and/or Gold coinage compiled into rolls at the time of their use?

I have complete sets of 2 cent and half cent in my collection. I have never heard of rolls in these or the others you mention. As Sal advised do a bit of research. Good luck.

My understanding is that before rolls, there were bags. That's it.
Not sure when rolls became a thing...

I have rolls of 25 nickels with a face value of $1.25 and rolls of 25 cents, all machine wrapped.

I think bags of coins were shipped to banks where they were rolled.
