Seems NGC is on a roll with it's Signature series. Last announcement was Rick Harrison signatures. Article can be read at this link. FYI. http://www.numismaticnews.net/artic...ent=965291_EDT_NUM-FRI170825&utm_medium=email
She won the baseball commemorative design contest. I may or may not have really enjoyed a baseball coin
I was just reading an old Numismatic News this morning (4/17?) and saw that the Mint Director (?) was signing labels. Then I had this thought... One day, these things are going to form a collection. They are going to be sought after, just as sample slabs and NGC black insert slabs. NGC is definitely going to expand this product. What about all the living football hall of fame people, etc. I'll bet a Chumley slab would be more popular than Rick's and that's why he didn't get one!
The only other signed label I could have an interest in would be Fats Domino or Jerry Lee Lewis (Cited from: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/cassie-mcfarland-to-sign-ngc-labels.301956/)
A Dave Winfield set I've wanted to do for a while, but if I completed it I know I would start wanting a set of basically them all
brg5658, posted: "Lame. This "label" mania crap has gotten out of control." LOL. This from a professional "marketing genius" no doubt. IMHO, we have not seen anything yet. In fact, I called someone at NGC today (Saturday) and gave him some suggestions. Some they had already considered. If the labels were not popular to someone (collectors), they would not be paying for people to sign them. So I'll say: "Please don't rain on other collector's fun." PPS I have a set of two limited edition slabs signed by Rick Montgomery and Mark Salzberg that were given out at an ANA function. One day...$$$
Gosh, could you use a few dozen more emoji's? Are you a 13 year old? Your messages seem to get a bit lost in the nonsense smileys. JMHO.
Almost eighty, going on 13. Hopefully, you'll get past the: and take the "hidden message in my post to heart." I think much of the stuff everyone collects is CRAP! Nevertheless, until now, you never saw me write that - ANYWHERE! On another subject...for a PM. Do you have any ancient coins with horses in your collection? Awhile back (when I was fifty going on six ), I put a bunch of Carthaginian coins with a horse's head into gold jewelry. The green patina and beautiful artistry was set off by the gold bezels.
At this point, i think a famous CT'er signed label would color me more impressed! @Insider call NGC back and tell them, that you, SuperD & Ed wood autographed labels are your next big idea!!
I have the "Nolan Ryan Coin" from the 1992 Olympics in a PCGS slab signed by Nolan Ryan (real signature not facsimile like NGC did). I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan and the fun part is if you look at the coin and the 1991 Fleer Nolan Ryan card the images are exactly the same. The mint won't admit it because of the no living person on a coin law. They've become hard to find and I assume they, even if just based on Nolan's signature, have gone up.
