Can anyone tell me if they have tried weighing Canadian 1967 quarter's.
As the mint changed from 80% to 50% silver midway through the year of 1967. I am having a hard time figuring this out
I have read many times that there is no way to tell the 80% from the 50%, but the Canadian mist says there is a weight difference.

Now I have heard of the water test but that is just not practical, plus I am just not that good at math LOL
Any help would be very much appreciated
    Best

Yes but every thread I have read says there is just no way to weigh them, as they weigh the same. Just though maybe someone had some other info but thank you

The weight will be different between the 80% and the 50% silver content.

Have you tried weighing them? Maybe you will see the difference?
Ignore what they say and maybe try it.

Try the tissue test. I inagine the Quarter with 50% silver would not be as bright as the 80% silver

The test is to see a clad vs silver coin.
Place 1 ply tissue over the coin and you will see the difference.

I am showing that both the 80% and 50% weigh the same. (5.83)
And it's just the nickel content quarters that are lighter.
I know you said the Canadian Mint, but if you could post a link, TY.

That's interesting, but I believe it is a misprint.
Here are the specs from NGC on the 1968 50%:
    Composition: Silver
    Fineness: 0.5000
    Weight: 5.8319g
    ASW: 0.0937oz
    Melt Value: $1.36 (4/5/2020)
    Diameter: 23.8mm

I checked other sites and they all had the same weight on the 50% and 80%.
And it was the quarter that was made out of nickel that was the lighter one.

    Thank you so much
I wrote the mint an email they said it is correct?
Take a look at this site as well
    Under comments at the bottom
I really don't think there is a way too tell other than the Specific gravity test
