Came across small town coin shop on vacation and bought this classic commemorative

    I took a detour because of traffic while on a road trip more than 350 miles from home, and accidentally drove by a small town coin shop in Edgewood, on the outskirts of Jacksonville that I didn't even know existed. I decided to stop.

    Asked them if they had any classic commemorative coins that were graded. They had a few. Found this coin to add to my growing collection. 20240817_113256.jpg 20240817_113312.jpg


    The kicker, about $50 cheaper than the cheapest MS-65 1934 Texas that I can find on eBay. I think going forward any time I take a road trip anywhere away from crowded south Florida I'm going to research coin shops and check them out. Never know what other cool bargains might await. Anything is got to be better than Miami. All we get here is shops that sell bullion and very little numismatics at all, not like these old fashioned shops like the one I ran across on this trip which is predominantly about collectable coinage
