A boy scout coin I got a few years ago. Does anyone have one? Does anyone have any information about this coin? Also, does it have a value? Thanks!:D

A token or a medal Alex. I'm not sure what the value of that piece would be.

That's a token that was being given to new scouts a number of years ago. I'll ask my Uncle for more on it as he's been a council leader for the past 23 years.

    ****UPDATE****

Just got off the phone with my Uncle and sent him the images from your post.

According to him this was produced around 1981 or 82 and was given to new scouts after they passed their scouting test to help them remember their oath. He says he thinks they are bronze. Not sure of possible value on it though as there were many tokens made over the years by the BSA.

He suggested you take it to your local, or closet scout troop or council as there might be a member who collects the BSA tokens and may know what it could be worth.

It is listed as id U14 Oath and Laws Pocket Piece in my "Scouting Exonumia Worldwide" (1995) reference by Rudy J. Dioszegi. It should be made of oxidized bronze and be 36mm in diameter. This is a common (R1 rarity rating) piece, and lists for $1 in F/VF, and $3 in XF.
