Black 1996 D Roosevelt Dime!

    Well, I was searching through a box from the bank of Roosevelt Dimes and I came across this black dime.

    Any thoughts about how this happened?

    Hum...interesting. I'm glad someone flipped the coin over so that both sides were evenly damaged!

    Environmental toning. Exposure to the elements and buried coins have their Cupro-Nickel clad layer affected over time..
