I took a stab at this roll but think I was hasty. I should have looked up bank of America before I purchased it. The bank was founded in 1998. Why would a roll like this even exist??
One, it could exist because a bunch of old coins were brought in. The more nefarious answer would be someone is trying to advertise "unsearched old rolls". Btw, saying Bank of America was founded in 1998 is completely wrong. They were founded as Bank of Italy, but renamed itself around WWII time as Bank of America if I recall.
They were formed on the street in San Francisco immediately after the 1906 Earthquake. Italian guy yes.
I stand corrected. I did not read enough... The Bank of America Corporate Center, headquarters of Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina Predecessor Bank AmericaNationsBank Founded 1956 (as BankAmerica) 1998 (via the merger of BankAmerica & NationsBank)
I still have my Grandmother's Bank of Italy bank book. A.P. Giannini founded the bank in one part to serve the Italian community in Calif. Back then all branches had bi-lingual tellers and bank employees to help the Italian immigrants, many of whom could not speak much English like my Nonna (Grandmother). Back then Italians were not always welcome in some banks and A.P. Giannini made sure they were always welcome in Bank of Italy . He was a hero to the Italian community.
Not to mention, the Bank of Italy also issued $123,536,720 dollars worth of national currency like this note on the Heritage Auctions website. https://currency.ha.com/itm/nationa...ngs-assoc-ch-13044a-bright-very/a/424-15519.s
I'm pretty sure that's what this seller did. Lots of junk. Fresh damage. They all look like they were found in the middle of Broadway in Manhattan.
In our area it was Suburban Bank, then Sovran Bank, then Nations Bank, then B of A. Same account number all the way through. Wish I had kept more of the coins and bills from those times, though.
