ok i just went tru my Mercury Dimes after watching a video on you tube, so i took out these dimes, there's at least one coins in Full Bands... i mean the rest are like missing the centre band or one of the centre upper or lower band... make sense? so tell me should i sell or grade and sell...or are they any worth like some of the tubes say they are or not? sorry i started taking photos of all but , i got lazy an now decided to again, just using the few i took out, please don't ask for full photos tonight, il do so tomorrow. oh yes and a big hello to all
Perhaps it's just the lighting of these pics but they look polished? Please say it aint so, Joe. J.T.
They look highly polished but could be the lighting. Also, most of those you tube videos are just click bait, the only people making money are those hosting the video.
I doubt you would get a return on your money if you paid to have them graded. I'd leave them as is after putting them in a flip.
Get yourself a A.N.A. grading standards book. Any one who collects coins (or sells) should have a basic knowledge of the grading standards. The pictures you provided are not of a quality that most would grade from. Also get a pricing guide. Now to answer your question, yes they are worth grading but probably not in the sense that you asked. These should be graded by you so that you can check your pricing guide to have a idea of their worth in the event you want to sell them. Obviously a coin in very good condition in not valued as high as a almost uncirculated specimen. As for sending these to a TPG (Third Party Grader) I would not recommend doing that. At a glance I see coins whos' value are less that the cost of having them slabbed. In other words a $12 coin is still going to sell for $12 regardless of spending $30 to have it graded.
hey everyone. how de do firstly i was a little upset last night when some member said that my coin(mercury dimes) were Polished. after looking at my pic i could see why one would think so. so this morning , i decided to take new photos for all you guys An so , under Normal Natural Light (no added lighting).. These are the results. these coins are just in Excellent condition. let me no what you'll think
yes i vang what you say. but i no there is someone that can Appreciate these coins like i do. thanks for the advice
Some of your coins are very nice but grading them is a question mark . Please review one coin at a time looking for Errors and Key or even Semi-key dates . Wish you the best of luck .
Grading fees would far exceed any return you might get if selling. If you want to just keep them in the condition they are you can buy airtite capsules or even slabs and entomb them yourself
Opinion ? Display the nicest coins in separate threads and we will review them , don't show us a bunch of coins in one thread . Play by the rules please, Thank You .
I would not have them graded. The fees are more than the value and I feel a few of them would come back in Details Cleaned holders. Still a nice little group of dimes. One of my favorite coin designs.
I said it before to you and I'll say it again, you'll never get you grading fees back. Not worth the cost to grade them.
