Pictures are up!!!! Hey everyone, I think I may have found a 2013 error quarter. Has anyone else? Are they rare?
Please post a good photo so we can see it. I have not. It depends on the error. Errors are not common. A small clip or a slight off-center is more common than a missing clad layer or a wrong planchet strike. What kind of error do you think you have?
OK On the reverse, the bottom of E Pluribus ( well, just E PLUR) Is fatter. The pic is a tough one. on the obverse, however, is a different animal. I am thinking missing clad layer, but I will let you decide.
Bdmf are you, were you inquiring about the incuse lettering as well? If you were I found one this afternoon a 2013 that looks basically doubled in the same areas, but they are considered MD. I am saving them though
I have a 2013 Nevada basin with in collar die stamp runs all the way around the obverse stamped right thru quarted dollar around and thru United States of America
This thread is from 2013. Old thread. Even the member you quoted has not been in CoinTalk since 2016. It would be better if you start your own unique thread with puctures. Pictures are a must. Many new members have damaged coins and assume they are errors.
HI fred. Yes it's real. We would call that a fire damaged coin. Someone pitched it in a campfire, fireplace, grill, or was in a housefire and left to cook for a while. Maybe even hit it with a torch.
