Yes, you'll get approved. I don't know much about the site but I'm a member, I don't post much there tho' as CT keeps me busy enough! One thing for sure is members over there have some really great collections!
I'm a member. There are some extremely knowledgeable folks over there. Just avoid hostility or argumentative posts... quite a few people have been banned.
No interest. Lots of attitude there. Same with the NGC board. Here, we can voice our opinions on coins, without a strong third party agenda. Most of my friends who were at either were banned.
I'm a member and have learned a lot on the forum, bought some nice coins on the BST, and have several friends, mainly in the trade dollar and exonumia communities. Just avoid disparaging the host, personal attacks and anything political. The mods are really pretty reasonable people.
They banned me for calling them out over deleting threads that embarrassed them. I was not pleased that they erased 20+ hours of my research, that they should have done, but I was pretty civil about it. Boom, gone. I don't consider it "disparaging" to point out a company's specific, factual behavior. It's a weird infallibility syndrome over there; I mean, all you have to do is admit you made a mistake and move on. Erasing all the evidence like nobody ever saw it is pretty silly. But they do what they want - just watch out if you state the obvious.
Since 2001 (19 years this month!) Didn't care for their 2016 platform change, though. Much better site here, purely from the nuts-n'-bolts standpoint. Good people in both places, of course. And plenty of overlapping membership. But I digress.
I joined in 2001 as well. That's when they started shutting down the old forum and everyone had to move over to the new forum. Lots of alts were created. Crazy times. The software here is the best I have ever found.
Been a member there since 2013 but almost never post. If I had I’d probably been tossed years ago. I found their software hard to use especially from an iPhone
I have been a member over there for a long time. I still post there, but I do a lot more over here. A few people really pounded me over there because I criticized CAC. I said they got it right over 90% of the time, but that was not good enough for them. One member said so much bad and untrue stuff about me to the point where another member threatened that person with a lawsuit. Anyone else would have banned after the first couple of posts, but that person got to go on and on for weeks because PCGS deemed that person to be a big money maker for them.
Interesting forum but not my cup of tea. I enjoy being myself so I'm very happy being with you here at CT. My compliments to all
I signed up many years ago but never posted there until recently. I value it for the knowledge which some members have, specially in the area of U.S coinage. Their World Coin Forum, on the other hand, seems slow and consists mostly of members showing each other their latest (and invariably slabbed) purchases with little numismatic discussion.
I'm both a member here, since 2004, and there, since 2002. It's a very valuable website and worth joining. As has been said-avoid personal attacks on people or entities and anything disparaging to the host. And PLEASE-avoid anything political. That will get you booted, and deservedly so. I tried the NGC site but have no use for it.
A few were questioning why this coin would CAC with the verdigris which got me wondering the same thing. Any opinions?
