    Hello everyone,

I have a 5 PTAS coin with a 57 star. By any chance, do you know if this is worth anything?

Thanks for your reply. Admittedly, I am not familiar with what makes a particular coin or currency valuable or worth keeping but this coin in general (based on some research that I have done) was a little different from what I recently inherited. I guess for now, I will stash it away. Let me know if you would like me to upload any pictures.

Try and provide as much information as you can. Not everyone knows what a 5 PTAS with a 57 star means. I am assuming you mean a 1957 5 Pesetas from Spain. The stars will show the year minted. 58 to 75. Value can be anywhere from .10 to $100 depending on year, grade, and condition. A nice clear(large) photo(both sides) will help determine what you have.

Gotcha. I apologize for being very vague. Attached are pictures of the coin. It is a 5 Pesetas from Spain. The year on the coin (circulation I am assuming) is 1957. The minted date is 57. I hope the pictures attached will work.

Krause only shows 58-75 in the star, no 57. Are you sure the star is stamped 57? Anything other than the 63 is worth less than $1.00

The star is very hard to read. Could be 67 based on what you are saying. I'll have to get out the magnifying glass to be sure.
