(4) 1971-D Kennedy Half Dollar Error Coin Silver Planchet

    I have several 71s. (4) of them are minted with the silver planchet. I’m attaching weight as well.

    From your pic, it looks like copper clad. To be positive, take them to your LCS and have an analyzer test them. Or better if they have a XRF gun.

    The answer is no. Any that were in circulation have long been pulled out of circulation. Like finding two 1943 copper cents.

    These have sat in a spot for over 20 plus years. Stupid question, but the weight and of course the sound and texture of silver. They were all my dad’s so keepers! Thank you.

    The weight is correct forthe 1971 CLAD
    Metal Composition: 91.67% Copper - 8.33% Nickel
    Diameter: 30.6 mmMass / Weight: 11.34 grams

    Yes… I have read up on those. The 71s also read about… I just went by weight etc. thanks for your help!

    Thanks again. These 4 have or had me fooled comparing to others I have. But they are carded and put in my album. These were my dad’s. Just about all that I post and yes I post some, well some that make y’all go what the heck? :) Ty!
