Greetings everybody, I posted a question today about a 2023 d Lincoln shield cent asking if there was a extra v on the 2023 D. I didn't get an answer for I did get an answer but not about the V on the D. Well I saw a coin talk when I googled it and apparently there is a v on the D. Someone posted that they had one on the D. I got a bunch of 2023 from the bank about 6 months ago and maybe 10 loose rolls. I decided to crack a few open I didn't find no extra v but I did find what appears to be an RPM and maybe doubling in God will trust. Check it out let me know what you think. Also on the reverse there appears to be a die crack on the upper left side of the shield. Gracias
Hello. There are no RPM's after 1989. No doubling anywhere else either. Repunched Mintmark (error-ref.com)
Impossible to get a RPM after 1990, and any doubling you are claiming to see would not be an error. It would be a variety
There is a class 9 (IX) doubling event explained for Abnormal doubling no one can explain. Wexler and Flynn describes it in their book " Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents" . They called Class9 " God Only Knows" and basically says to try and figure out the event , but in the end leave it to others who have the time. God Only Knows!! Good luck, Jim
Never be afraid to ask. I think I did hear that on a 2023 there is an extra V next to the VDB on his coat. Not sure if it was a P or D mint mark
