    Hello,
I believe this 2021 D 1c matches the criteria and examples on Variety Vista as ddr-???. But the obverse has me wondering if this is stage B for EMDS or if it might be one that would fit into stage C catagory. Then again, I could be wrong on everything. Thanks for any help. I see no DDR here . Simply natural cent circulated .

The characteristics of Class IX doubling made using the single squeeze process has always seemed a little fuzzy to me. That being said, I wouldn't discount your coin as just being a normal cent.

I think you might have something since it doesn't appear to have the regular MD or DDD characteristics and occurs in the central region of the coin, IMO. Just remember, I have not paid much attention to Class IX doubling, so it's just an opinion and wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong

I'm not sure how CONECA is attributing new varieties now, but you may want to look it up, especially if other experienced error collectors on CT concur. However, be aware that the interest in class IX doubling is much lower than other types of doubling, so finding a new one may not equate with wild adulations and high dollar purchase offers.;)

Here is an explanation of Class IX doubling from error-ref.

Edit to add: @Rick Stachowski appears to be quite knowledgeable in identifying minor doubled dies and has offered good opinions in the past. Maybe he can offer an opinion

The doubled designers initials kinda tell the story.
Maybe the OP can get some clearer shots with detail and not the glare. If they didn't look like that I would say MD.

A clearer shot of the upper left border of the shield. If that is a die crack then it appears to be be comparable to the listed one on Variety Vista

I like the 2021 D Cent. I live in North Carolina and all I get are 2021 (P) Cents. Anyone want to trade? (Just kidding about the trade.)

I too do not see DDR. I do see anomalies that could be questionable, One being the line between the B and E in Liberty on the obverse. Thanks and good luck..

These so approximate strike doubling, it could be one, I too wouldn't rule it out. All that has to happen is the die blank positioned a little funny when it takes the squeeze from the hub.

Thanks everyone for the input and shout out to Oldhoopster for references and the issue's Lincoln coin's have encountered since the switch to zinc. I will post better pics for all. I have also come across another 2021 D that IMHO appears to show even more doubling. Once again my thanks.

I hope these pics help. I took them using a lower luminance setting on scope and from N & S to elemenate shadows. Thanks again.
