Hi guys, I have this 2019 P Roosevelt Error Dime with a railroad rim (Obverse) and several chips of metal across Lincoln's hair, ear and chin (see photo's). I was wondering if these are referred to as Die Chips on Dimes? Is this common on Roosevelt Dimes?
Yes, small die chips. No, it's not a railroad rim/partial collar It has a very very very minor mis-aligned Die.
Yes, although some modern dimes have very long die cracks that can be valuable, if they go from rim to rim. Small die chips on coins like your's are good educational pieces to study/examine, but don't forget that every coin struck from that die will have the chips(and maybe bigger); very little collector value, as they can be found.
