Isn't it amazing that this beautiful Gold coin is still being sold by the US Mint? I wonder why, it never was a very popular coin yet people are still buying them up on feebay. I happen to have one somewhere around here in a safe place. At first I didn't care much for the design as I felt her head band looked too flashy, but it grew on me. How long until the US Mint stops selling the 1/10th size does anyone know?? I mean, will they continue for years and years until they reach the mintage number of 135,000? High relief, is it really, I don't remember that at all, I think only the ounce coin was high relief? Anyone know? :DJust wondering, it would be great if the US Mint stopped selling these so it could become a scarce coin and be in greater demand. Just thinking out loud, anyone?

Apparently not real popular at $3,300 an ounce. On sale for 3 years and still only 42,582 pieces sold.

    Might be a sleeper.

I wasn't fond of the headband design, either, until I saw the 2019 "Head Asplode" design.

I never caught on to the design. I'm guessing others feel the same way.

I actually just purchased one of these from the mint last week. I did see them for much more on ebay and didnt understand why someone would pay more from the secondary market when they could go straight to the source?

When I was reading your intro about this I had no idea what coin you were referring to...but then when I scrolled down to the coin, I knew...and given the design of the coin's obverse plus the state of all things woke, anti-this and cancel-that, going on in this country the last couple of years and increasing in this last year, it's not rocket science. I have no idea how the larger versions did with sales, but maybe this small one is just easier/cheaper to afford by many.

People just don't know that's why they buy on feebay. I have one too that I bought the first year they were being sold, I knew going in that it wasn't gonna be a popular seller as we spoke about it right here on CT! :D The price was $215 when I bought it, I'm happy with it, completely! ;) In the ebay link I put up top, the seller said the 1/10th coin that was being sold was a high relief coin which isn't true, only the ounce coin is high relief. The ounce is still being sold as well. The 1/10ths are being offered on ebay quite a bit and it's surprising that they sell for so much, another reason I wish the Mint would stop selling them! :shame:

Not really. Many people want nothing to do with dealing with the mint for good reason. They may have an eBay discount code, they may have eBay bucks, they may have an offer for boosted eBay bucks etc. There's countless reasons why someone would do it that has nothing to do with not knowing

I bought the 2018 W American Liberty 1/10th Ounce Gold Proof Coin Febl 8, 2018 for $215. It was quickly raised to $305. I bought the American Liberty One Ounce Gold Proof Coin on April 6, 2017 for $1,640 plus $4.95 for shipping. I was ticked about the shipping because I had bought quite a few items. It's still selling, but at about $3,300?
