The U.S. Mint has posted its 2016 product schedule, giving us our first look at release dates for many of next year’s issues. While its fair to assume that most of the information included on the chart below is correct and won’t require significant changes, updates and adjustments will occur throughout the year. For instance, it is unlikely that products containing Theodore Roosevelt National Park ATB Quarters will be released over a period stretching from August through October. And several of 2016’s most high profile releases have been simply left as “To Be Determined” at this time. It looks like the first few months of the new year will be eventful. I would love to see the total cost to purchase one of every single item the mint produces this year. I am certain there are a few collectors out there who do.
I want to see the prices of the gold coins. Hopefully if the price stays down it will make it more affordable to the average collector.
I wonder why the ASE's are coming out so late this year? Last year the proofs were released in early January and the burnished eagles in late March. Edit to add: Must have something to do with the edge lettering requirement.
That would be my guess too. I think the edge lettering requirement came late in the year and the mint needs some time to come up with new tooling.
So VERY late... According to the USMint website: "This product will be available for sale in December 2016." Maybe they're saying "December" to prevent an onslaught of inquiries now. Or maybe the 2016 ASE will be limited production. 2 per household? Nice!
