Hi just signed up on the site. Wondering if some one can help me with this one. Quarter seems to have a lot going on & I can't find much about it. I read some where to take a pic of your coin on red and it will reflect. It did ! My scope isn't big enough to get the entire coin in one shot sorry. I do have more pics for the reverse.
If you're seeing doubling, which I see in the 2nd photo, that's common 'ejection' or 'mechanical' doubling, a very, very, very, common effect on most issues of our modern coins.
Same apply for all of it ? I am a newbie, but have been researching for awhile now. Thought for sure this or at least some was doubling. Thank you letting me know.
Wait.. You are a newbie? You want to learn about Mint Errors?.. So why pick your member name as CFErrors? That's weird.
Ok Have you looked at any Mint Error websites? Have you looked at any Variety websites? There is a difference!
For Mint Errors.. Look at and learn about true Mint Errors - http://www.error-ref.com For Varieties.. Look at and learn about true Variety coins.. Remember this. It's Doubled Die and not Double Die! http://doubleddie.com
I have been collecting Mint Errors for 34 years. The gentleman who answered before, Fred Weinberg has been collecting much longer than I have. There are many great specialist here on CoinTalk so ask all you want.. Just don't repeat yourself and don't ask "what's it worth" only until you know if it is an actual error or variety!
