I apologize for the time.. I normally don't even look at new pennies, but this one is extra shiny with hardly no rim.. The obverse is Okay I guess, but the reverse is messed up.. I think it has been scratched a bit, but the rest is a mystery.. Look at the U in United.. Look at how the whole reverse is crazy.. All kinds of different lettering..
Haha.. I shouldn't have even posted that one.. I know nothing about newer coins.. I'm using the web and Newbie Guide to Coin Collecting.. And I have The Official Red Book 2021 edition.. But I have only had the books for a few weeks.. I mainly stick to older coins.. I'm trying to find a decent doubled die.. Those seem to be the hardest to spot.. Apparently, I don't know anything about coins like I thought I did.. lol.. I know the key dates and the rest I'm learning.. Thanks for the replies..
https://doubleddie.com/ http://varietyvista.com/ http://www.lincolncentresource.com/ these sites and many others have good info about the minting process and how dies are made. Familiarise yourself with these first and then study the images of true doubled dies and how they compare to the coins you suspect have it.
Okay.. I wish you had posted a second sooner.. lol.. I just posted about a 1962 D Lincoln Cent, asking a lot of questions.. mayor the others want get to aggravated with me.. haha.. Thanks.. Going to read it right now..
IMO learning about these subjects (and I do not know all), is an interesting and important part of coin collecting
I sure know it was shiny!! Almost had to put my sunglasses on to look at it.. lol.. yes, I noticed how it was scratched up on the reverse.. Thanks y'all
