There are a couple of reasons that a Close AM can look like a Wide AM. Please take a few photos and start your own thread. You will get much better answers.
There are things you can do to work up to an answer. One of the best ways is to familiarize yourself with ODVs and RDVs. Understanding the common differences between different vintages will help you identify a coin by uncommon ways. Also, learning about varieties and what makes them one is also helpful in diagnostics. If these don’t get you the answer you seek, you’ll always have the community to ask (an LCS, coin forum like CT). But I would suggest that these are a latter point escalation. Finding answers on your own leads to increased depth in the hobby.
