There were almost 4 Billion of these coins minted in Philadelphia in 2005. There are bound to be some errors. This one looks like PMD. However just for sake of argument, if it were a mint error the coin is just unremarkable otherwise...there is no one who wants this coin for their collection. The "error" is meaningless. This cent is only good for what it was minted for, to be spent and used in every day commerce.
I am just trying to let you know it is nothing to be concerned about. No disrespect whatsoever. It is just a cent that looks a little different. Who knows why? PMD stands for post mint damage meaning that whatever is going on with the 2 happened after it left the mint and is therefore not a mint error.
