2004 Nickel Errors?

I purchased a couple bags of 500 new nickels from the mint. 1 bag of Ps and one of Ds. I just finished going through the P bag and I found 2 different possible errors. I found 1 nickel with the UST missing or very very light) from the word TRUST on the obverse. I'm thinking it was a filled die? The other possible error I encountered was what I first thought was a double T in UNITED on the reverse. After looking under magnification, I don't think it's a double 'T' but looks more like a cud? I found 40 (or about 1 in 12) of these total in the bag. They are all very similar. Some are stronger than others but they are all evident to the bare eye. I have looked for similar reports but have not found any. I tried to take a picture but my zoom is not that great and it was too blurry to see (any tips on taking good photos?). I am a novice at best when it comes to errors and would appreciate any input.

Welcome to the forum. I am not exactly an error specialist, but what you are describing is pretty easy to guess. The missing letters are from a filled die. We have seen many of these in 2004.
As far as the fat "T" in United, we have run across this also. It is Die Erosion on the examples that we have.
2004 is an interesting year for the new nickel coin. Many die breaks, and filled dies are filling the market. Will make for interesting studies one day.

Here's the best photo I could come up with...

Not a bad photo. It does look like some form of die erosion though.
