Got this back in change today. Looks like a second strike off center or something similar? Is this an error or just damage? Thanks,
Jay, I looked at a few indents online and I believe this is a minor indent. Some of the pics I saw on google looked pretty darn similar on minor indents. Here are a few more pics. The reverse does not look to be affected, but the area of indentation looks to be folded over on the rim. Let me know if these pics help. Thanks for the help. I got a 1c blank planchet in change Saturday, if this is an error of any kind, then thats 2 errors in change this week!
I've never had one in hand, but I think it's an indent after seeing the reverse. I could be wrong though. Maybe an error expert will give you the 100%. If Rick & Treashunt revisit they'll know. They are very trustworthy guys.
Thanks for the flowers, Jay. After seeing the reverse with the widened and flattened rim, I am now convinced that it is PMD. The edge of the coin appears to have been pinched by pliers, vise or some other tool used for squeezing after it left the mint.
I have the same thing on my 2002 tennessee quarter. And a few different noticeable errors. View attachment 325008 [/QUOTE]
