Hello all! So I’ve found a coin and I’m a bit ignorant when it comes to rare coins or error coins. I wanted a little bit of insight as to what I have found to determine if it’s worth saving. Please let me know if you have any information on this, I would really appreciate the help! Thanks everyone!

You can see the dime was inserted inside the cent from the picture.

correct... someone used a milling machine to cut out the cent to fit the dime in it...same way two headed nickels are made...

Thanks for the quick replies everyone! Just wanted to confirm to see if it held any value. Now that I know it was done intentionally well, that answers my question. Thanks again for your time everyone!

Magicians coins are for sale by novelty shops and magician supply places. Standard value amongst token collectors seems to be around $5 - $10. Earlier pieces or those with a provenance to a famous magician would fetch higher prices. Copper silver would be more popular than copper copper or silver silver because the change would be obvious to members of the audience. I have never heard of a silver gold or a copper gold but they should theoretically be possible.

Should be worth a couple bucks; that likely didn’t give the guy with the milling machine much for his labor. I’d be glad to run across one of these (my grandkids would be thrilled).

If you search YouTube for Magician's coin there are a couple of videos posted that show the process.
