    Hi guys,

I have this 2002 P Indiana State Quarter and would like to know if this is an Improperly Annealed Planchet? For comparison I have shown the 2 state quarters side by side. The quarter I am referring to is on the left side.

I looked at the edge of the quarter and see that the copper part of the edge starts to transition to a really dark brown color. (rim photo quarter is on left side) Is this an indication of an improperly annealed coin?

The normal consideration is that an edge would be normal if improperly annealed. An improperly annealed coin would not affect an edge. IMO, so just discoloration . Jim

I’m g try honking it was exposed to different conditions and that affected the toning.

Appears to just be environmental toning differences to me. @paddyman98 has shared some of his improperly annealed coins before and there is a more obvious color difference between coins. JMHO

Just saying it’s toning. The coin was exposed to different conditions.
