Just going through some of my coins, and came across this one . It look like it has some kind of different finish, almost like a woody, matte, very colorful too. But I have no ideal what it is .. A024 - 20150502_073214 (2)-horz.jpg

I think it's just a normal state quarter with toning. How it got that way, I have no idea.

Has every color you could think of, really pretty, still has the " Spoke " effect on the obverse & reverse .. maybe its an improper alloy mix ?

I have a question on an Ohio Statehood quarter. Mine seems to be an oddball or a mistake, I'm not sure which, because on all the colorized statehood units, I only ever see the obverse of the coins colorized with an astronaut, but mine has the face colorized too, and on the face is commemoration of the space shuttle Columbia. Can anyone help me figure out this mystery? I'd like to know if it's a mistake or just some special edition of the coin.

Your coin has a sticker that was applied by an outside company AFTER it left the mint. Since it wasn't issued like that by the mint, it has no numismatic value.

Keep it if you like it, but just remember, it isn't an official US Mint issue and any value on the secondary market will be minimal at best

When the statehood program was going on there were many companies that would colorize these coins and sell them by subscription, year by year. You would see advertisements in the back of magazines, online and via the mail. As stated earlier they are an after mint product so have no numismatic value. Demand for these with traditional numismatists tends to be low.
