I have a 2000 P Sacagawea dollar that seems to have an error on the tail feathers. I have taken pictures of the coin front and rear and a close up of the possible error, I checked it and the area is raised so I am pretty sure it is not damage to the coin. Any help or information will be greatly appreciated Thank You in advance Rob
Hello Robert! This is a 2000P not 2001P. I would personally like to see better Pics of the area of concern. The reason be that the two Pics look somewhat different.
Not really. Think about it: If it is a die chip (or interior die break), then it is a flaw but a very common flaw. As a flaw it is part of the deterioration of the die as it ages, which, along with the circulation wear, also is very common and has no premium value. For this coin to have added value beyond FV it would need to be Mint State or be one with Enhanced Tail Feathers (ETF), but it has neither…imo…Spark
Yeah, from the time that happened, all the other coins from that die would look the same, and how many millions would that be... BTW welcome to CT
