Hello experts... I found an odd looking quarter in some change, compared it to clad errors and it's not really the same color. This one is kind of gold with a greenish tint. I saw something about proofs or test coins from this year that were made up of a different chemical composition, but can't find that website.

The first picture was taken in natural light and gives the best color match. The other (2) shots are under the same lighting conditions and show the color is on both sides. I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks much.

Thank you. Why do some coins "tone" and others stay silver?

I know you posted this in 2013, but if you are still around, I wanted to say I found the same exact quarter coin roll hunting the other day. Does anyone have more current feedback?

    It's worth a quarter.
They made tons of these. Even if it's "toned" (and not plated) it's natural.
Metals that have been exposed to the environment, air, water, gases, etc.
    can take on different colors.
