    I wouldn't invest in one but I do collect 'em (commemoratives, that is). Still need one but I'm willing to wait for the right moment to purchase.

    From what I have noticed lately, both the proof and the BU are down considerably from peak prices. If you look at Heritage prices for MS 70, they peaked in 2010 at about $5,000...recent prices for that same grade are about $2000-$2500.

    I am actually a fan of these and would certainly not mind owning a proof for a decent price. The cheapest proofs on ebay have sold for around 725, which seems like a good price considering spot is about 570.

    Would you pay a dealer 27% over spot for any other bullion coin?

    Well I bought one thinking it was collectible, granted it is a nice coin, unique in way as the Mint had trouble with them...Yes at a premium but in the time I have bought it, it has gained in value on PM alone...I just like them a lot.
