Yes, It has a security thread on the left side and a water mark face on the right if that's what you're asking
If it has the security thread and watermark, and "feels" right, it's prob real. Maybe just a bad cut.
Even though it's longer? I was familiar with the width being off or not centered but didn't think it could be longer.
Well if it was miscut, one note could be longer and one would be shorter. It might still be within the "tolerance" for length by mm's. Ask Steve in Tampa, he might know.
considering i have a stack of 100 20's next to it i don't believe that to be the case i'm simply trying to make sure it's not counterfeit...
is there any added worth for 'misscuts' or should i jus try to get someone to swap 20's with me and go about my business?
Take a scissors and trim off a 1/16 of an inch. I think you can just spend it. If it was counterfeit it would feel funny to the touch. If it feels the same as the other bills, its probably good.
I'd say the note is fine. I just compared some $1 notes I had on me and I found similar differences in size. Most people don't realize this but there is a lot of subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) variation due to how currency is produced.
