Good morning. Im new here and pretty much a novice collector. Recently, I found numerous coins doing the coin roll searches. One being an 1999 Lincoln cent with the close a/m. but its a strange one. The coin itself is reddish in color, bright satin base , with a portion of LIBERTY missing, and LINCOLN being more on the eastern side of the obverse. Reverse has everything more to the east side as opposed to being center. Is this penny worth more or less than the normal one? Also would this be worth the cost and trouble to have it graded? thank You
It's a close AM which is normal. The wide AM is rare. Your coin is an off-center strike and worth maybe around $5 to the right person. Cool find for roll searching.
Nice little Off-center The cost to have it graded and attributed is way more than what its value. So the answer is no.
Nice coin, nice find. It wont grade high enough to warrant paying the cost of the TPG slab, if you figure it will cost you 50-60$ to get it graded maby less if you buy the subscription to the tpg. ive been watching these lately slabbed you can buy under $20. its got value, just does not make sense to pay that, when you can buy them cheaper. current value I would estimate between 5-12$ raw, depends on whos bidding. keep it.
Not worth the cost of grading but it's a great off center strike worth no more than $15.00 retail. Welcome to CT.
If you don't get it graded and want to keep it just for fun, do a self-slabbing, they are fairly cheap on the market and very little work, but your coin will be preserved better than just keeping it in a flip.
