Are the 1999 Delaware Quarters missing "E" from STATE errors or variations? Looking at my quarter through the magnify glass you can barley see the E and looking at it with the naked eye you can't even see it. Do I have one of the errors, variations or something else?

Struck through grease. My avatar is Lincoln cent that is missing the last digit in the date due to this type of error.

Are these type errors worth anything more than 2-3x face?

Exact value I'm not sure. Someone on here said my cent is probably worth a few dollars. But my cent is also a wheat cent, so it is older and therefore a little more rare. If I were to guess you could maybe get around a dollar, depending on the overall condition of the coin. 50 cents I wouldn't doubt, so yea maybe 2-4 times face value. The State Quarters are full of varieties and errors so I don't see getting more than maybe a few dollars at the absolute most.

But those are only my guesses so please don't hold me too it. ;)

There is still a possibility that someone ground the letter off, but to me it looks like a strike through error.

The DE quarter is known for this particular grease fill error. The CT for the middle of "charter oak" missing due to grease, the NH for the mintmark being missing due to grease. Other quarters of other parts missing. Grease filled die errors tend to be quite common and are not usually worth a premium unless every extensive.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about those other states you mentioned.

On a side note about something totally different, I posted a question in the US COINS forum concerning a 1999 Georgia Quarter I had.
I didn't know where to post it and I didn't want to post the same question twice in two different forums.
Here is a link to that post, http://www.cointalk.com/t163986/
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
