Good afternoon CTC! Can someone on here help me to identify as to what type of mint error this is? It appears to be only where I have the arrows indicated. Some kind of misaligned "strike", but I cannot seem to find any information on this type of error. All help is greatly appreciated! 1999 d Dealaware Washington quarter reverse error1.jpg 1999 d Dealaware Washington quarter obverse error2 of 1.jpg

There was no additional strike (mis-aligned). Someone painted this one sloppily and was off the mark slightly. This was done by an outside party and did not come from the Mint like this.

I really hope you were joking when you created this thread. It obviously is not an error or variety of any kind o_O

    Peace

Respectively, I am not disdainful in my post by any means. I SINCERELY have no clue as to what this is and it appears on all of the coins that are from different states, with the same type of appearance, from the same set. So, I am still curious as to what I am seeing.

It is not a mint error because the colorization was not done by the US Mint. It was applied by a private company. In the case of this coin, they did not have the coin aligned properly when the color was applied. A privately colorized coin has no numismatic value, so a poorly applied color also has no numismatic value.

It's considered damage due to the paint. It is only worth $.25 and it was a sloppy job of painting.

It's not paint, it's a stick on decal. You could probably wash if off with hot water or some acetone. Here's another example on a Kennedy Half....
