Well, I found this in a change hoard and I don't know much about these errors. I did a quick online search and it seems that the Mint had mintmark-fill problems in 1988 and 1989. Value seems to be less definitive. It was pulled from circulation, so it has the typical marks and wear of a coin that is old enough to drink. Other forums and sites claim the value is somewhere between $2.00 and $10,000. Ha Ha!!! Does it have any real value? I am gonna keep it as a variety/error, regardless. Any additional info is appreciated!

When they were first discovered back in 1989 it was first thought to have been a die where they forgot to punch the mintmark into the die and the value just to $100 per coin. When it was realized that it was just a filled die the value dropped to just a couple dollars as a novelty. The novelty value is the only value today.

1990 was another year with this problem, I have one of those I found in change.
