Hmm, I think that's a die deterioration ring. https://coinauctionshelp.com/die-deterioration-lincoln-cent-motto-ridge/
That looks pretty accurate ty so the outter rim what causes that any info is greatly appreciated coins have become my new hobby and loving all the info
Do you mean the thin rim on one side and the thick rim on the other? If so I believe that's a MAD (Misaligned Die) http://lincolncentsonline.com/error2.html (search for "misaligned die" on this page)
Ty for the info y'all are great posted my first pic 2 days ago and I've learned so much taking it all in
I recall seeing the ridge ring the first time...thought I had something too. Then someone sent me the link to error-ref.com. A great resource for learning about Error coins and the causes for them. And still learning...after all this time. Have fun on the journey.
A definite Ridge Ring on a zinc cent. A nice example of one and a great educational piece but only worth face.
This is just a suggestion. Try to create your possible mint error questions over at the Error Coins part of CoinTalk. Here's some more information
