Hi, today I was at the bank and took couple of rolls of nickels. I founded this coin.....when you look is like gold polished and is looking very beautiful. What is wrong with the color?

Nickels sometimes have a tendency to turn gold in color. I have a few that vary in degrees of gold tone. The other explanation would be if the coin has been plated at some point. I can't really tell from the pics if it has been or not.

When I saw first time I was like WOW...unfortunately pictures can't translate the true color....because in reality is looking very beautiful. My thoughts that was plated or something like this. I never seen something like this is looking I don't know how to explain is not like yellow color is like tiny golden color.

Nickels do tone this colour. I have a proof version doing the same

Look....when I look on your coin you can see that somewhere is lighter somewhere is darker that is looking normal thing with time metals changing colors. This one is the same color everywhere on surface, I mean nothing different just the same color and rim is silver color. My thoughts is plated, I'm almost positive.

It looks very shiny so my guess it was plated.
