1985 D nickel is the mm in the right place on this nickel it look a little out of place possible rpm and the 5 looks to have some doubling in the upper part of the 5 is there any errors on this nickel....
In 1985 the mint mark was hand punched into each individual die. As long as they were in the general area of where they were supposed to be, it was ok. Your coin is ok.
All of those striations you see pointing toward the rim are indicative of die deterioration. There is no doubled die.
If the "shelf" that you think you see is reference to the term "flat and shelf-like", that phrase is not indicative of a true doubled die. It refers to machine doubling.
