First, welcome to the neighborhood @Stephanie Hicks ! While I don't collect Lincoln cents, I don't think the designation applies to that year. Chris
Thank you, ok wish PPL on you tube would get their info strate before they post videos lol. Thanks again!
It may appear to be a larger font, but it really isn't. FWIW, I really, really, really hate the crappy Zincolns! This el-cheapo coin composed of 99.5% zinc has been in use since 1982, and is the cause for many crummy coins being produced. Chris PS. Do you get the hint that I don't like them?
Here ya go, Stefanie. Everything you need to know about wide and close AM cents, From those that know what they speak of. http://www.lincolncentcollection.com/closeamwideam.html
There is nothing wrong with questions about Lincoln cents. It's just that the Zincolns tend to disintegrate easily or form gas bubbles beneath the surface. The 95% copper cents made before 1983 have a lot of interesting anomalies. I guess the biggest detriment to the copper cents is that the metal can be moved around fairly easy. So, we are often asked about a "T" that looks like a "Y" (LIBERYY) or some other weirdo hit on a coin. Chris
Indeed, and is why you'd be wise to avoid YouTube for coin related info from now on. While this place is far from perfect, and there's plenty of misinformation spewed here too, more often than not it will be corrected by one of the more knowledgeable and caring members. Please do stick around and don't be afraid to ask whatever questions you may have. Welcome to the forum.
HEY CHRIS @cmp9ball what did Old Zabraham Zincoln do to you? thems fighting words buddy. I say we stand two paces away and throw handfuls of Zincolns at each other.
sorry but that's not a wide AM you will know it when you see it there is a definite gap between the A and M
