    Hello cahs,

Please measure the diameter of the coin very accurately and at different points. Please let me know the maximum & minimum diameters you measure. You should use a precision caliper or a micrometer for this diameter measurement. Please confirm that the reeding goes all the way around the edge of the coin & confirm that it appears normal.

Also, it would be nice to have better photos that are cropped closer to the coin so that the image does not have a large blank area around the coin.

The reason I asked for accurate diameter measurement(s) is because if the coin was deformed post mint, then the diameter might be out-of-specification. If the deformation happened while the coin was in the mint's collar die, then the diameter would be perfect.

A very nice example of a coin struck through die fill ("grease").

I can't be certain of that based upon the small photos. IMO it could be struck through something or it could be the result of a squeeze.

Perhaps there is some way to enlarge the photos? When I click on the photos, they remain small.

not the result of a squeeze. for a squeeze to do that much damage it would leave an obvious effect on the flip side of the coin. Nice grease filled die.

Perhaps everyone is not looking at the same two small photos that I see.

I see damage (or struck through) on the obverse that directly corresponds with the damage (or struck through) on the reverse. Please inspect the photos again.

Please inspect this again for my peace of mind

I am posting just to bump-up this thread. Please inspect the OP's photo or perhaps the OP can post some additional information.

It is only my opinion but I'm not convinced that it is a mint error. There is apparently deformation on both sides correct?

Closer pics would be preferable. From here, it looks like a struck-through error. What method of PMD and what indicators are you looking at, Collect89?

hello everyone, i had not realized that my post had gotten this much interest.
I do not have a caliper, but compared to another quarter it is exact.

    here are cropped enlarge pictures.

    At long last

Thanks for the information and better photograph. If the size is "exact" as you say, then that is an indication that it is not PMD. There is evidence of struck through (or squeeze) on both sides as I suspected in the small photos. Take a look Ziggy9. The pattern is consistent with being struck through some mint debris (grease) with some subsequent circulation I think. As long as the diameter is exact and you you don't see evidence of a squeeze, then I think you have a nice mint error coin there.
