Hello Everyone. What's up with this penny? I acquired it within a larger collection of mixed denominatuon coins last year. I don't know if its been plated or altered in any way but wanted to run it by you all. I weighed it and it fluctuates between 2.48 and 2.50 grams, it seems to prefer 2.5 on average. Given all the penny types/varieties of the 82/83 years I thought it a good idea to check. Thanks for the help. 20210409_111706.jpg 20210409_111650.jpg 20210409_111746.jpg 20210409_112531.jpg 20210409_112511.jpg 20210409_113159.jpg

Looks like a high school experiment.
There are brassy cents, 97' and 98', possibly even other years. That is were there was too much zinc in the copper plating.

Looks like a gold plated wash that has worn some.

    Environment damage in my opinion.
