Good morning coin talk forum. I have found a 1982 USA penny Lincoln Memorial which I believe has doubling on the letters WG and possibly the N in the In God We Trust at the top.

On the reverse 20161222_045327.jpg 20161222_045529.jpg I see a lot of Errors like there is no e in e pluribus unum. There's also a slide down on the word States. I absolutely do not know what else to look for on this please take a look and let me know if this is p MD or if this is a real quick that's worth something if it's worth anything at all. Thank you for your time

No, similar that is more detailed doubling inho. However my E. Is missing you can see the faint mark of where it should be.. but isnt. and the dots are very underpronounced. 20161222_045817.jpg

The lettering on the Reverse is called a grease filled die .
Now you need to weigh the coin to see if it's copper ( 3.0 grams ) or zinc ( 2.5 grams )

Your coin is also a large date ...

The E missing is a minor common occurrence. The die used had debris in the letter E so when it struck the blank planchet it did not allow it to form.

As stated from previous post aka struck through grease. No value for that.

Welcome back! The coin in your photo (not sharp), does not look like a doubled die.

When you examine a coin using bright incandescent light, it tends to cause a reflection along the sides of the relief (letters, design) that makes everything look double. That's why many authenticators like to use florescent light when looking for doubled dies. It gets rid of the glare.

At the risk of inciting your ire again...go to Google and look up Doubled Die Coins. You will be reading for a week! Anyway, in many cases, this type of error gets more valuable as the "spread" becomes large enough to see w/o magnification.

@Lyrics, there was heavy grease in that area around the E, and it filled in the E, the bottoms of the S, T, and A, and some of the P. Always look at the whole area, a lot of the time that tells what happened.

They're just too common. But then that's a lot like these "doubled dies" people are finding these days that only show up on very high magnification. There are so many, they're not worth anything, either.

I have 1982 penny that has no E what so ever in, e pluribus unum. No fade away nor see any type of marking to where it suppose to be at any way you want to look at it. Gary T.
