I have 3 different 1982 Copper Pennies that weigh 3.1 grams. Which of these 3 photos has the “Small Date” Variety? If any? To me, the first one looks like it MIGHT be a small date. Can’t tell though.

Now, different Penny, this one is definitely a small date, only it’s zinc instead of copper. Is it worth anything at all?

What does it mean when a D Mintmark is thin like this? Is this an error coin and is it worth anything?

In that website you sent me didn’t have a thinner 1982 Mintmark. All 1982 D Pennies, except this, have I have are thicker D marks. In the year 1982.

I’m sorry. I meant to say that all my 1964 Pennies, except for this one has thicker D marks.

Can you take a photo of one of your other 1964-D's? Thanks.

Mint marks used to be punched into each die by hand, if it was punched a little light, that would result in a slightly thinner looking mintmark. Die repair such as abrading and polishing would do the same thing.
