1981 penny no mint mark

Hi guys I’m back I got this for my friend I have 1981 penny no mint mark wide AM. But I also see something extra on the nose side. Letter E for E pluribus and L for Liberty and little something on circulation I need opinions. Thank you!

Yes. Just circulation wear and tear.

No mint mark means it was minted at the Philadelphia Mint.

1981 does not qualify for the wide or close variety.
They are all wide AM.

• 1959-1992 all business strikes and proofs are supposed to have a Wide AM

Philadelphia minted and it's normal so it's worth one cent.

So what about 1979 with out the wide am?

 

The wide and close AM does not apply to Cents minted in 1979.
