    Hello,

I know nothing about coins other than noticing from time to time things that don’t look normal. This looks to be some kind of error, can anyone advise if it’s worth something and what type of error this would be called. The building on the tails side is almost completely smooth?

Yeah it’s been in circulation so there’s no telling, but minus the scratches is this a rare find?

    No

The only rare Jefferson nickel is the 1950D and it's not all that rare.

Great...now people are going to be asking us if their one of over 1 billion 1971P nickels is one of these super rare "no S" coins.... :banghead:

    WRONG

The valuable version is not the billion+ circulation strikes minted in Philadelphia.

It's the very small number of PROOFS struck in San Francisco which are missing the S.

    Spend it...

It's now worth only 4 cents, but I'm sure you can find some sucker to give you 5 cents for it! :arghh:
