I found this 1978 nickel that appears to be copper. I dont see any sign of silver anywhere. Not even on the outer rim/edge. Any opinions on this nickel? Value? Thanks! 20181028_015739.jpg 20181028_015757.jpg 20181028_015838.jpg 20181028_015826.jpg

I believe your coin has what we were referred to as environmental damage IMO but let's see what other's think.

Yout nickel is environmental damage. Sand, soil, dirt, the elements affected the Nickel to change color. There is no silver in 1978 nickels.
I metal detect and have found hundreds of examples such as yours -

A true Nickel struck on a Copper Cent Planchet would be the same weight, size and thickness of a Copper Cent Planchet.
Here is a attributed example from my collection -

And if it was struck on a nickel sized planchet punched from cent strip, it would only weight approximately 3.46 grams. (Because the cent strip stock is thinner than nickel stock.)
