Hey Gents, Was busy going through a collection that I had stashed away and was comparing a 1973 and a 1975 Roosevelt dimes. Then I noticed the 1973 dime had a D mark and the 1975 had no marking. Anybody have any insight on the mentioned coins? What is it worth? Thanks. Wez.
If someone can provide me with an email address I can mail the pics to the email given as I can't uplaod any pics of the coin or coins. Thanks
They made 585,673,900 1975 dimes in Philadelphia with "no mint mark". It would be worth 10¢. They made almost as many 1973-D dimes in Denver. Its value is the same.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Wez! The only 1975 "No S" dime is a proof coin rather than one from a circulation strike. Chris
Wez, don't let the goonz raz you. While the coins you described do sound common it is good to keep an eye out. For example there is a 1982 no mint mark Roosevelt dime that is very valuable. Keep checking your change it is the best way to learn. Sent from my PD_Novel using Tapatalk
There's no razzing going on. The '68, '70, '75 and '83 No S dimes are Proofs, his coin is not a Proof, just that simple. Yes, there was an '82 business strike dime struck at one of the branch mints by dies that had no mint mark. But '82 is the only year where that happened. It is estimated there were about 10,000 were struck. edit - value of the '82 no S can range from under $100 for MS64 to over $2000 or so for MS68.
I have a question I have a dime with a p before the year (1973) and a d above the year what is it and is it rare
Are the letters raised or incuse? Sounds like someone punched some letters into it, if you can post some pictures someone here can help.
