Can anyone tell me if this 2p coin in silver coloured is fake or real?
I have recently bought it for 30 euro.

When you ask fake or real, do you mean silver or cupronickel? If so, that info is easily found with a Google search.

I believe a few 2p have been found minted in cupro-nickel. I don't believe your's is one of them. What is the weight?

Look like it could be on cupro-nickel with that weight .
Bronze one weights 7.12 grams and with plating adding more weight, could be good ..

I have a bag or two of those in uncirculated. Time to get them silver plated like that one.

If silver plated ,would it be easy to rub off the coin?

You'd have to do much, much more rubbing and it would take much, much more time than you'd think.

Make it a pocket coin. You'll see how long it will take.

Most if not all 1971 "Cupro-Nickel" 2p's are plated. Rub the edge carefully and you will see copper underneath. I have two like that but luckily I didn't pay much. I believe they were plated during science experiments in schools (according to what I've read on the internet). I also have a 2p in Cu-Ni dated 2000 and likely to be "right" since it is visually thinner than a normal 2p. Hope this helps.

It might, but the OP hasn't been here for over a year.
