Is this cent, being a large date, worth a few bucks? On the reverse, what's going with Lincoln. Didn't see nada on VV. If you don't see what your looking for on one site, that doesn't mean it's not on another site, correct? Ty.. IMG_20230628_183056238.jpg IMG_20230628_181936488.jpg IMG_20230628_182125112.jpg

Only ten cents in my opinion.

    Did you look for DDO?

I have a notebook with my personal notes, and my note says to “collect all 1970s—” (I trust my note, but I cannot cite the source.)

Hmm. If it's your note, then you must be the source. No? hammer.gif

I went back and looked at this 1970s Lincoln cent. I believe these are better pictures. I went on copper coins cuz I didn't see really much on variety Vista. Could this 1970s be a large date over small date? I included a screenshot of what it looks like. Also the s looks like an RPM and looks nowhere near the same as copper coins. My S looks smaller. Thanks for a second shot Screenshot_20230630-034140.png IMG_20230630_031834988.jpg IMG_20230630_030659906.jpg IMG_20230630_030655271.jpg IMG_20230630_030646809_HDR.jpg

Look at the second “T” in “TRUST:”
Does the vertical line look double-died?

(Look for DD anywhere on Obverse side—)

There isn't any doubling on your coin Jjpe.
As far as your reference the MM doesn't match the same position. This is usually the first thing I look to confirm when attributing A DDO/DDR or RPM.

A reason one might collect all 1970 S cents is that there is a possibility that you would catch a Small Date specimen. Given the value of an SD, that would make sense.

What you have here is a common LD. As noted, it’s worth a few cents.

There are a number of varieties for the date. So saving all to go through later might be good practice. Otherwise, I would build a roll of the higher grade specimens to put away.
